A medical referral is not required to see a Physiotherapist unless you are claiming through Worker’s Compensation, Third Party or Veteran’s Affairs. DVA Health Cards (Gold and White) are accepted as payment upon a GP referral.
Traditionally Medicare has not covered Allied Health Service including Physiotherapy. However the Enhanced Primary Care Scheme (EPC) now allows doctors to approve up to 5 Allied Health Services for chronic conditions per year on referral, this is at the discretion of your doctor.
Unless you are an Age Pensioner or a Centrelink Low Income Card holder, you will be required to pay a gap fee that covers the difference between our fee and the Medicare rebate.
– Health Funds (Hicaps)
Private patients need to pay at the time of treatment. We accept cash, cheques, EFTPOS, credit cards (excluding American Express & Diners Club).
For patients in a private Health Fund, you will need to bring your fund card and we will do the Hicaps claim for you at the time of payment. Your rebate will depend on your fund and you are then required to pay the gap.
